HI,
I have read with much sadness the lack of support many of you receive regarding your AG collections (obsessions ) and wanted to post a positive, funny story.
My mom, dd's "granny", can sew pretty well. She has made clothes for years (me as a child, as a seamstress in a factory, her own curtains, etc., etc.) When dd got a Twinn doll a few years back (from Granny) she made her clothes. When dd wanted babies last Christmas (twins from TRU, not Bitty), clothes were again made.
This time she has gone too far...she has made Kit 13 dresses/outfits so far!!! DD doesn't even have the doll yet & Santa is bringing two outfits (& she's wearing one too! ) What is most amusing is how she keeps sneaking peeks in the books & trying to match up fabric & clothing styles. She is actually out buying green rick rack (or is it ric rac??? ) to make Kit's old dress that she outgrew & her mom let out the hem & covered the crease w/ ric rac (that word again! ) I hope dd notices the outfits correlate w/ the books and appreciates the hard work.
Warmly,
trvnbrn
P.S. My mom was very impressed w/ AG clothing & it's quality. She has arthritis & velcro is how she must fasten things. Tiny buttons & zippers are very impressive to her.

I think that" Granny" needs her own AG to spoil.

That is so wonderful. Tell her she can sell those outfits on ebay for a fortune!
I am so impressed with people who can sew so well. And the fact that she cares enough to make the outfits authentic to the stories is just incredible.
What a super lucky granddaughter she has. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img] And what a sweet lady she must be.

Your mother is fantastic! I'm sure she enjoys every minute of making these outfits for your daughter's dolls and I agree with Pat, she needs her own AG.
Looking forward to seeing photos after Xmas.

I wish my mom was like that about AG. She thinks my girls are waaaay to spoiled and we should have a garage sale and need to downsize.
She has never and will never buy my girls AG.
But they have 13 Grandchildren ( one sister has 7 kids), so my girls ( the last two Grandkids) don't get much for gifts.

What a precious Mom you have. I can't wait to be a Nana. I tease my son who is almost 22, if he has found me a potential wife that loves children..LOL
We also have a 3 year old son. My husband said God is making us wait because we have a hard enough time keeping up with Elijah at 47... WHEW....
Please send pictures!

That is so great! Please take pictures of your daughtering opening those dresses!
My grandma would do the same thing. One Christmas, I got three dollly suitcases (about 12x12x6) full of Cabbage Patch clothes she made. I still have them.
I'll never forget that Christmas, and neither will your daughter!

That is so wonderful that she is making the clothes and paying so much attention to detail.
My mom thinks that AG is fine, but I happened to mention to my mil about AG dolls being "expensive" (back in Sept. when we met a friend at AGPlace NY and I thought we weren't going to go down the whole AG road. . . . ). Anyway, I know she won't approve, but too bad for her. DD will have a special visit from Santa on 12/23 here, before we leave for my mil's house on 12/24 (we always do that), so I'm sure Kit will be coming along!
